Faith-Based Solutions to Family Homelessness: What’s Next for Your Congregation?

Date:
Sunday, December 7th, 2014 from 2:00pm to 4:30pm
Location:
Seattle University | 901 12th Avenue | Student Center 160 / LeRoux Conference Center | Seattle, WA 98122

More than 120 people gathered at Seattle University on August 20, 2014 to explore Faith-Based Solutions for Ending Family Homelessness. Participants came from a wide range of faith traditions, along with many service providers and policymakers. Attendees expressed interest in going deeper to address the roadblocks that faith community’s face when developing programs to move families from homelessness to housing.

To help move congregations forward, this Dec. 7 gathering will offer congregation members a chance to talk one-on-one with people who’ve removed barriers to effectively serve homeless families. The event is hosted by Seattle University’s School of Theology and Ministry and The Church Council of Greater Seattle.

The afternoon will consist of two sessions, with six work groups to choose from. Each work group will be provided a facilitator, note taker and, most importantly, one or more individuals who can answer questions and offer suggestions. The afternoon will conclude with time for networking and relationship building. Find more information and register on the event page.
