“I had friends, and they liked me, and we used to play all the time. Then one day they asked, ‘Where do you live?’ I said, ‘I don’t have a house. I’m homeless.’ The next day I said, ‘Hi,’ but they acted like I wasn’t there,” says 11-year old Magdalena Warner to her mother, Carey in a discussion about how homelessness has affected her childhood. They have been living in their vehicle since 2004.
