Did you notice that our blog was awfully quiet last month? Did you think that maybe we were out on vacation? Not so! We’ve been working hard putting together our beautiful new website, and we’re thrilled to welcome you to it!
Here are some of our favorite new features:
Advocate resources are growing.
In addition to telling important stories, we aim to equip advocates with tools to help end homelessness. We do this through our free Spark Change Podcast and blog posts focused on advocate resources. And now we’re offering workshops and consulting services for advocacy organizations. OK, we’ve actually been offering them for a while now, whenever community partners asked for them. But now we’ve set up a section of the website to explain all the services we offer on a sliding fee scale. Check it out!
We’re mobile-friendly.
More and more people are using smartphones and tablets to access our favorite websites. Most of us don’t like squinting to read non-optimized sites, or awkwardly pinching and dragging the screen around to find content. That’s not a problem here! This new site gives you a great experience no matter what device you’re using.
Finding content is a breeze.
Our blog is the heart of Firesteel, and we’ve got A LOT of awesome content. Now it’s easier to find the stories, videos and podcasts you want. Cruise over to our blog to check out our latest posts. Are you most interested in a specific topic, like domestic violence or youth homelessness? Or maybe you want to see videos or infographics? Just click on the category link to see all relevant posts. Perhaps you’re looking for articles by and about our amazing partners at the Seattle University Project on Family Homelessness? Enter their name in the new search tool and — voila! — you’ve found them.
Those are just a few of the things we’re loving about this new site. We encourage you to explore it and let us know what you think! What do you like best? What would you change? Please leave us a comment below.
