Storify is a tool for bringing together tweets, status updates, photos and videos to tell a story. Users can search lots of social networks from one place, drag individual elements into a single storyline, and add text to give context.
This winter, McKenna Haley from Seattle University’s Project on Family Homelessness used Storify to tell the story of Washington’s Housing and Homelessness Advocacy Day. We loved the way her piece came together, so we asked McKenna to talk with us about her experience with the free version of Storify.
Below is a screen capture of McKenna’s story. Links don’t work on this static image, but they do on the live version. Avatar images update automagically, too!
Since we recorded this podcast, the Gates Foundation included a tweet from our own Erin Murphy on a Storify narrative about the International Women’s Day social media meetup.

At Firesteel, we test a lot of new media tools as we advocate for an end to homelessness. The purpose of the Spark Change Podcast is to share what we’ve learned, and to help other advocates use these tools. Please let us know what you think of Spark Change so far! Your feedback will help shape future episodes.
